Location: Flemings Hotel. Private meeting.
The Committee reported that:—
"Having considered the question of the vacancy in East Tipperary, it was unanimously decided that in view of the circumstances which occasioned the vacancy, it was due to the memory of the late Pierce McCann that his place should not be filled at present."
Tipperary was under martial law, making a by-election near impossible.
The Report was adopted on the motion of L. MACCOSGAIR (Kilkenny N.), seconded by J. MACDONAGH (Tipperary N.).
