The following motion stood in the name of J.J. WALSH (Cork City):
"That a Committee be set up to draft a Constitution suitable to the democratic needs of this country."
There were some concerns that Dáil was following the Westminster model too closely and needed to follow model of progressive small nations such as Sweden, Norway, Finland and Holland.
Alderman T. KELLY (St. Stephen's Green) moved, and LIAM DE ROISTE (Cork City) seconded:—
"That the consideration of this question be deferred until such time as the Member in whose name the question had been tabled (Mr. WALSH, Cork City) was present."
