Dáil Éireann: the first 100 years, 1919–2019

Royal Irish Academy conference entitled 'Dáil Éireann: the first 100 years 1919-2019' to take place on 11 December 2018.

The Houses of the Oireachtas and the Royal Irish Academy are co-hosting a conference to commemorate the first Dáil Éireann. It starts at 9h00 with two panel discussions with distinguished academics and historians on the origins and evolution of the Dáil. In the afternoon there will be two further panel discussions; the first with a cross party panel of members giving their views on the future challenges for Dáil Éireann and a second panel with media commentators speaking about the public perceptions of the Dáil 100 years on.
